One of the standard claims of global warming hysterics, is that global warming makes DC cherry blossoms bloom earlier. Sadly for them, the past two years were both very late – and only the volcano cooled year of 1993 beat 2014, by one day.

The warmistas will accuse you of ‘cherry picking’ and they’ll be right for the first bloody time ever!!!!!
ROFL
Canaries must be an endangered species by now.
Cherries, you mean?
Clearly from this graph, there is a catastrophic lateness to the blooming of the cherry trees, and 97% of climatastrophists agree that by the year 2025 they will no longer bloom. Alarmists are in a panick knowing that they will they no longer have any more cherries to pick!
Thanks, Steven, for your courage in confronting government deception.
Say someone planned a trip to D. C. to see the cherry blossoms based on the prediction of a cAGW acolyte – and went in mid-March. Bummer. Who can they sue?
My Nanking Cherry shrubs are blooming but still a few days away from “full” as defined by the NPS. The Nankings are small and hardy plants and seemingly not closely related to the trees at the Tidal Basin. We live at an elevation of 2,240 feet and about 50 miles east of the Cascade Crest in WA State. None of the regular sweet cherries are showing yet.
Tripped up by denialist Cherry blossoms.
Shock, horror!
Is Nature itself conspiring against the tree ring circus?
They’re all agin me, mother.
Can I sue?
I was watching the Weather Channel April 11th, and they had segment on the DC cherry blossoms; I figured they had blossomed that day, April 11th (but from your graph it was a day earlier). The reporter said only one year had they bloomed later, but he said that record date was April 18th. I don’t remember the year he said it happened, maybe in the ’70’s, which would predate your graph. So your cherry information and his cherry information are (kind of) apples and oranges (included-period-wise). Fortunately, I have the mind of a high-speed blender (yes, I just bought one, and am drinking a grapes-kale-strawberry yogurt concoction at this very moment), and can handle such mixtures… But…ban assault fruit.
Did those cherry trees get the memo? Adaptation is a failed strategy, it can’t possibly work.
Climate experts have been consuming too much cherry brandy.
Latest in outrageous CAGW claims – Reef fish become suicidal.

With all those ugly researchers watching your every move it is hardly a surprising outcome!
🙂
The alarmists were frothing at the mouth, thinking they had a hot item going with the cherry blossom trend. The last couple years wiped that out. The earliest they ever bloomed I believe was in 1946 on March 15th.
This year on March 17th there was 8″ of snow in DC.
This does not take into account the Polar Vortex caused by Man Made Global Warming that shifted all the cold that was supposed to go to Siberia to the USA.
Correcting for this the trees would have bloomed on Valentine’s Day this year, and on Christmas Day next year
