   There were some regrettable things published in the popular press (e.g. Newsweek; though National Geographic did better). But we’re only responsible for the scientific press.    Connolley is a KNOWN disinformation agent. He got kicked off WIKI for a period of time because of his misdeeds.

   Was there a 1970s global cooling scare? YES! I remember it well as does the editor of New Scientist Nigel Calder, who was in the middle of the story.
