China had many massive floods during the 1930s. One of the 1933 floods covered a larger area than the state of Arizona, and led to starvation and cannibalism.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

The 1930 decade was a climate horror show across the planet. And yes, it was due to ‘global warming’ and yes, it was due to the sun being rather active. Then the 1940’s was cold. Ask anyone who fought in Korea, they will talk mainly about the endless cold.
But then, anyone reading dairies of people 150 years ago or later can see that unusual weather is…rather usual. Hardly a century goes by without some remarkable shifts in climate. This instability has been quite epic the last several million years.
Unlike, say, the Eocene.
Only by harnessing energy and technology have we made life comfortable for people. Now the elite want to reduce all of us back to lives that are Nasty, Brutal and Short.
“Global Sustainability requires the deliberate quest of poverty, reduced resource consumption and set levels of mortality control.” – Professor Maurice King
“It is a campaign not for abundance but for austerity. It is a campaign not for more freedom but for less. Strangest of all, it is a campaign not just against other people, but against ourselves.” -George Monbiot, UK Ecojournalist
They expect us to live in little palm covered huts on the edge of the ocean. Anyone living in a severe cold climate will be forced to live in much colder or even ice age conditions while forbidden to use even firewood to warm up.
I live on a rather cold mountain and own a forest and I worry about them taking the forest from my control and imposing CO2 restrictions on me while my forest eats CO2!
Thanks, Steven, for your continuing sense of humor.
In that same vein, Obama has performed a great service in closing down the old US economy peacefully and opening the new USSA economy in the mold of the old USSR economy.

You would think the idiots would learn. They have been trying communism/sociaism/collectivism for centuries and it ALWAYS FAILS.
“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” ~ Albert Einstein
“They have been trying communism/sociaism/collectivism for centuries and it ALWAYS FAILS.”
Just a point of clarification. Collectivism fails for the masses. If by “idiots” you are referring to the common foot soldiers spreading collectivism, then you are certainly correct. On the other hand, collectivism is a roaring success for the few who manage to ride on the top. As in any scam (divine right of kings, democracy, fascism, mercantilism, theocracy (and maybe even republicanism, though I am still hopeful)) the ranchers eat mutton but the sheep get sheared.
Agreed but the ranchers are still trying to figure out how to optimize the mutton and wool and not get rammed and trampled by the maddened sheep.
Even sheep can do damage and kill. A ram killed a farmer in my area and the Sheeple did a number on the French Aristocracy. That is what the elite are trying to figure out. A system that keeps them in mutton and wool and the sheep stupid and producing at optimum levels.
UN climate experts have a brainstorm to prevent cannibalism. Wait for it, wait for it…. Bury the CO2! In old coal mines! Yeah! CAGW solved!!!

I know, I too am simply stunned by their lack of any scrap of intelligence.
Unfortunately, the carbon footprint caused by burying CO2 will be greater than the CO2 buried. And since all the coal mines are being closed by the EPA and carbon taxes, there is not enough space. And who will pay for this? The taxpayer???
These guys are so stupid. Or are they? If the elites wanted to introduce a global tax, the carbon tax is the perfect one to do the job. All the money flows to the central commentary position, the World Bank. And the One World Government will get its funding from there. Tricky bastards ain’t they.
Andy,
It really is insane. I actually worked at a company, (my last job) where some academic idiot had a CO2 sequestration scheme he had somehow got funding for. It involved mass transport of super-critical CO2 into granite. I am a mechanical engineer and the hardware was kind of interesting to design – I guess on some level I was part of the climate-change gravy-train. Anyhow, I’m just an engineer, I have no shame. It was a stupid academic project and we finished it; Herr Professor was utterly FOS and we had to get his sh!t straight as far as mass-transport etc but the stupid sh!t did what it was allegedly supposed to do so we got paid. A waste of $ as far as I can see.
I understand Greg. I’d make as much money out of the gravy train as I could too, if my job had anything to do with it. It wouldnt mean I agreed with their insanity. Stupid climate experts seem not to understand that natural Coral reefs, forests and peat bogs are carbon sequestration modes better than anything humans can invent. Some weird idea of growing straw and burying underground like radioactive waste is just insane.
Sequestration is simply not required because CO2 doesn’t cause global warming, no matter how much evangelical alarmists scream that it does. They should all be put on medication.
And this CO2 is what my forest needs to eat to grow! Yes, the human meddling can cause all sorts of climate change. Tilting us towards another ice age or worse.
People sometimes are surprised when they hear that the major oil companies have donated large sums to the various eco-nuts, but so-called “carbon sequestration” would be a windfall to the oil companies. (And let me parenthetically interject how much I hate the ignorant use of “carbon” as a replacement for the name “carbon dioxide”. I am willing to bet that the average CAGW warmist cannot give more than a shallow hand-waving description of the difference between C and CO2). Anyway, there is no reason to think that CO2 sequestration will lower the price of a barrel of oil, but Big Oil will likely be able to get massive payments from the public trough for their “service in sequestering CO2 by injecting it into old oil wells” and using it to pressure the remaining oil to the surface. What would otherwise be a big expense to the companies becomes a money making venture instead.
The whole CAGW hoax is a world wide variation on The Broken Window Fallacy Reapplied
If you read the climategate e-mail detailing VP of Shell Oil Ged Davis’s IPCC Scenarios you will see ALL are based on a switch from coal to Natural Gas (and not nuclear) with a minor amount of solar and Wind.
Shell Oil has been 100% behind the scam from the start see my comment.
Off topic Gail, but did you get my reply to your comment yesterday where you said I misread an article you were talking about, but I wasn’t actually responding to the article you had linked to, I was talking about the current day warmists’ predictions on the near future sea level. So, I have to admit, my comment was a bit off target from what you were talking about (sea level way back when).
Sorry Eric. The way the comments flow can sometimes be confusing. That is why I generally use a name and a sentence or two to pinpoint what I am commenting on.
(Bad habit from WUWT)
Thanks. I do the same thing sometimes. Also with articles. Especially with the WUWT type article, lol. Also I do that at hotair, where I got a few agw comments in today. Usually it works out fine, though occasionally I end up thinking I should have gotten more of the gist first. Regardless, I definitely appreciate the quality and detail of your comments here, Gail.

Worry not about that. Human influence is magnitudes too small to achieve even unwanted results. Mankind can impoverish and madden itself, however.
